Okay, so first Aaron told me I HAD to blog about making sushi and my Asian Market experience. Okay, so I bought a sushi making kit and I kept saying I was going to make it before I went back to work. So, I did. I decided I was going to make sushi on a night when Aaron worked late. But first I had to go to the Asian market to get the ingredients. This was the real adventure. Aaron went with me, of course. On first walking in it smelt overwhelmingly like FISH! We wandered around and what did I spy on the ground? A BOX FULL OF LIVE CRABS! They were in a cardboard box just snap snapping away. Little disturbing. After that I was standing in line waiting patiently when what happens? A cute little Asian girl comes to stand with her mom in front of us. All of the sudden whatever the girl was holding started FLOPPING! I look down and she has a LIVE fish in a vegetable sack. It is flop flopping struggling to live, after a few moments of not moving the little girl would SHAKE the bag to make it move. A slow and painful death that fish had! Of course when I first noticed it was a fish I jumped at the flopping, the girls mom (who of course didn't speak English) just looked at me like I was an idiot white girl and smiled. I then looked at Aaron who is unphased by all of this. I asked him in the car if it bothered him and what was his response? "NO! I've been out of the country!" Then when we got to the check out the lady had to tell me I didn't get the right rice so she took me back to the rice section and tried to explain what rice was correct, of course I could barely understand her broken English!
So, after that experience I was wondering what I got myself into, but I wasn't going to give up! I had to give it a try! Needless to say, it was 2 hours of rice making catastrophe! But it did turn out D-E-licious!
Now, on to this week.. YIKES it was awful! First week back and goodness you can tell. Monday wasn't bad but Tuesday was... umm what are the right words? Well... lets just say it was interesting! Devon has a new behavior plan and when he spits, kicks and/or hits he goes into an exclusionary time out. Well, Tuesday Devon was especially delightful. Needless to say he was in the room for 30 minutes, Running around KICKING, YELLING and SPITTING all the while I was sitting in front of the door making sure he doesn't escape. So after Tuesday the rest of the week pretty much was downhill from there.
So... that was my week in a nut shell!! Hopefully yours was better! Love ya all and enjoy the up coming week, I am praying mine will be better!!

As bad as that Asian Market thing was-- DO NOT go with Mikey-- he encourages you to gett all this "candy" and other nasty stuff by telling you that it tastes good, then when you pay the white folk price, I am convinced that they have different prices depending on what persuasion you are, and you get to the car to eat or drink the stuff, and it's just plain nasty, he tells you that it took a lot of getting used to. YIKES!! Do these people not know about a lot of sugar in candy and pop?
